Gavin Bryan, one of the owners of Industry nightclub would open the club once
a month for my gratefully deadicated sessions. I didn't know how to mix or how
a mixer works. Through many late night sessions I became comfortable with
playing Grateful Dead music in a continuous mix. I evolved from playing tapes
to CDs because of higher sound quality and technical advantages of time codes
and other digital advantages. I now know when the song is about to end and cue
up the new song easier. I started to play once a week at Industry on Mondays.
I used to invite a few friends or had no one there at all. I was always
learning and feeling the true love of Grateful Dead music. There is nothing
better than hearing Grateful Dead music on a great sound system.
