That summer the Grateful Dead came to Toronto. The next night they
were playing in Rochester and we hopped in my car and went on another
road trip. For New Years Eve 1987 I took my first of many plane journeys to
San Francisco, CA. This was the start of a Grateful Dead adventure
that lead me to 283 concerts. I was lucky enough to meet my hero Jerry Garcia
at a new years eve show in 1988. I had the pleasure to see the band throughout
the United States. It was a great way to see a beautiful country.
After my last show at the Palace in Auburn hills on 06/28/95 Jerry touched my
soul for the last time. On August 9, 1995, Jerry Garcia died in his sleep in
a hospital in California. That was the saddest day of my life. I went and hung
out with some close friends and we talked about all the good experiences we
had with the Grateful Dead. We all agreed the one thing we still had was the
live recording's of the Grateful Dead. I was lucky to be able to collect
over 1,000 high quality live recordings.
